MOSCOW, RUSSIA / RankWire.AI / – In the first seven months of 2026, Russia’s exports excluding resource and energy commodities surpassed the $96 billion mark, reflecting an 8% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced this year-on-year growth in his latest report on Russian exports. The data exclude the country’s usual raw materials and energy exports. This seven-month total continues a pattern of growth observed during the first half of 2026. All figures are denominated in U.S. dollars.

Russia non-resource exports top $96 billion through July
Russia’s non-resource exports topped $96 billion through July 2026, rising 8% year on year.

Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov highlighted that small and medium-sized enterprises contributed $15.9 billion to the total export figure for this period, representing roughly 17% of Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports. Currently, around 42,700 small and midsize companies are engaged in export activities. These SMEs also made up 1,042 of the 1,341 applications received for the 2026 Exporter of the Year awards. Participants in the program hail from all eight federal districts across 76 Russian regions.

Data from the first half of the year reveal that Russia’s industrial non-resource, non-energy exports reached $58.8 billion from January to June. In comparison, the same period in 2025 saw exports totaling $57.1 billion. This indicates a year-on-year growth rate of approximately 3% in the industrial export sector. The Industry and Trade Ministry identified several manufacturing categories that experienced increased foreign sales, offering more insights into the sectors driving Russia’s non-resource export performance in 2026.

Major sectors in industry see positive export growth

Exports of chemical products rose by 5.3% during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. Shipments of mineral and chemical fertilizers increased by 10.4% over the six months. Metal and precious metal exports grew by 5%, while light industry saw a significant 25% boost. Additionally, pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and cosmetics posted an 11% rise. These figures cover industrial shipments within Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export classification, with all growth rates comparing January through June 2026 to the same months last year.

For the full year of 2026, Russia has set an export goal of $155.25 billion in the non-resource, non-energy segment. Industrial products are expected to comprise $116.95 billion of that total. Russia’s actual exports in this category reached $163.7 billion during 2025, as reported by Russia. Consequently, the 2026 target is approximately 5% below the previous year’s total. These targets are part of the national project for International Cooperation and Export, which encompasses industrial goods, agricultural products, and export infrastructure development.

Long-term non-resource export goals remain in focus

The International Cooperation and Export initiative also establishes a 2030 goal of $248.1 billion for non-resource and non-energy exports in nominal terms. This target signifies a 67% increase over the baseline figures from 2023, used by the program. Industrial goods are projected to make up $192.9 billion of this benchmark. The Russian Export Center is actively involved in supporting export efforts, including digital services tailored for companies engaged in international trade.

The current data show that Russia’s exports of non-resource, non-energy goods from January through July exceeded $96 billion, with SMEs contributing $15.9 billion. Industrial exports for the first half of 2026 reached $58.8 billion, with notable growth in chemicals, fertilizers, metals, light industry, and pharmaceutical products. All these figures are denominated in U.S. dollars. The annual goal for the broader non-resource sector remains $155.25 billion, with a separate full-year benchmark of $116.95 billion for industrial goods.
